The Postal Museum opens for the season on May 20! Here, visitors of all ages can explore how the postal service has evolved – from royal couriers to digital communication.
The museum features several engaging exhibitions on Norwegian postal history:
• Mail en route – a journey through the development of the postal service
• Treasures on wheels – historic vehicles used by the postal service
• The Story of the mailbox – a familiar object with a rich history
• Wearing a Story – postal uniforms from 1899 to 2017
• In the loft, children can design their own stamps or play post officer and sort the mail.
From June 16 to August 17, you will be welcomed by retired postal employees with long experience from the postal service. They are happy to share stories, knowledge, and small glimpses from their work in the service of the Norwegian Post.
A visit to the Postal Museum is included in the Maihaugen ticket.
Et besøk på Postmuseet er inkludert i Maihaugens billett.
