Welcome to The Norwegian Postal Museum

The Norwegian Postal Museum offers a number of exhibitions and experiences for visitors. The museum maintains a national responsibility for postal history. 

The Norwegian Postal Museum is situated in the Town area of Maihaugen, and here you can see post office environments from various periods, send a post card or letter using Maihaugen's own postmark and see Norway Post's historical films.

In the attic of the postal building there are activities for children, where they can draw their own stamp and learn to fold envelopes like in the old days.

  • The Norwegian Postal Museum is open from 12 June to 30 August.
  • The museum opens on request during September to May.
